Pets are a core system in Grow a Garden 2
Unlike the original game where pets only boosted growth, pets in Grow a Garden 2 serve dual purposes: they help with plant growth AND defend against intruders. This guide covers all 14 pets, their prices, abilities, and which ones to prioritize.
🐾 How to Obtain Pets
Pets spawn naturally inside the lobby. To get one:
- Approach a spawned pet in the game world
- Purchase with Sheckles before the countdown timer expires
- Compete with other players — if someone pays more, the pet moves to their garden
Special pets (Black Dragon and Ice Serpent) are obtained through Guild Rewards, not spawning.

You start with 3 pet slots and can purchase more:
| Slot | Cost |
|---|---|
| 4th slot | 200,000 Sheckles |
